A nostalgic interview identity inspired by the iconic “I Want My MTV” era.
Our 1:1 interview series brings together artists from different genres
in intimate conversation. The visual direction looked to the timeless
energy of classic MTV branding, pairing nostalgia with a contemporary
editorial feel.
Context
The series paired artists with contrasting perspectives and backgrounds, creating a format built around curiosity, connection, and shared music culture.
Objective
Design a new opening title sequence that would immediately hook viewers while nodding to the familiarity and excitement of vintage music television.
Execution
We developed nearly 20 frames for the system, which were then animated by our motion designer into a fresh title sequence for the interview series.

How We Built It
The visual system was rooted in contrast: old and new, loud and intimate, iconic and personal. We wanted the series to feel like a modern artist conversation filtered through the energy of classic music television.
The frame design explored texture, typography, pacing, and graphic play. By developing a broad set of title cards and motion-ready layouts, we gave the sequence enough variety to feel alive while still holding together as a coherent system.
